FRUITBODY: Up to 8mm in height. Short stalked with a spherical flattened head that begins whitish but turns cream with age. The stipe measures up to 6mm. The outer skin (perineum) breaks when the fruitbody is mature which duly exposes the brown powdery spore mass within. SPORES: Broadly elliptical, smooth, light brown, and measure 8–9µm by 4.5–5.5µm. They contain one or two oil droplets. HABITAT: On rotting hooves and horns where it digests the keratin. SEASON: It can be found all year round. EDIBILITY. Inedible.
